Specialist SEND Training & Consultancy
Strategic masterclass training for independent SEND schools, Alternative Provisions, and tuition settings. Helping frontline practitioners speak the commissioning language that unlocks funding and protects placements.
About Keisha Kirk-Martin
I am a Senior SEND Professional with over a decade of experience across four London and Home Counties local authorities — including Waltham Forest, Birmingham City Council (SENAR), London Borough of Hounslow, and Wokingham Borough Council.
Unlike generic CPD trainers, my background is rooted in the commissioning and allocation decisions that directly determine your placement security. I have attended CCRAG panels, led Meet the Commissioners forums, negotiated costs at independent placements, and worked on high needs deficit reconciliation under DfE Delivering Better Value and Safety Valve programmes.
Carrington Jarvis exists to give independent settings the strategic positioning tools that most LA teams assume you already have.
Training Programmes
Each programme is grounded in live commissioning intelligence — the frameworks, language, and evidence structures that LA panels actually use.
Eliminate caseworker ghosting and administrative delays by crafting targeted communications anchored in risk management, progress protection, and statutory logic. Staff learn the Progression & Protection writing formula.
Transform standard statutory annual review paperwork into bulletproof evidence logs. Learn to translate everyday staff observations into CCRAG-ready strategic vocabulary that robustly defends placement fees.
Build placement offer letters that stand up to LA scrutiny and SLT sign-off from day one — covering granular provision mapping, defensible cost justification, and frictionless leadership sign-off structures.
Strengthen collaboration with health and social care partners; embedding Code of Practice compliance in daily practice and building the statutory evidence trail commissioners expect to see.
Translating complex neurodiverse profiles into provision planning, risk management, and measurable outcomes — framed in the commissioning language that protects specialist funding.
Tailored programmes designed around your setting's specific SEND improvement priorities, Ofsted readiness, or DfE obligations. Includes strategic review, staff audit, and follow-up support.
Who This Is For
Training designed specifically for the realities of independent and alternative SEND provision — not generic CPD theory.
The Approach
A 30-minute call to understand your setting's specific needs, staff experience level, and current improvement priorities — at no cost.
Training content tailored to your setting type, staff experience level, current Ofsted or DfE obligations, and the LA relationships you need to strengthen.
Flexible delivery options — half-day, full-day, or modular formats — scheduled to minimise disruption to your provision calendar.
Post-training resources, action planning tools, and optional follow-up sessions to embed learning into daily practice and documentation.
"Independent provisions do not succeed with LAs by asking for funding based on need alone — they succeed by framing that need as an essential protection mechanism for the LA's long-term financial investment."— Keisha Kirk-Martin, Carrington Jarvis Training Manual 2026
